BRETT, Judge:

Appellant, Arvil Sargent, hereinafter referred to as defendant, was charged with the crime of murder and was tried and convicted in the District Court of McCurtain County, Case No. CRF-17-189, for the crime of manslaughter in the first degree. He was sentenced to serve a term of 20 years in the State Penitentiary in accordance with the verdict of the jury, and a timely appeal has been perfected...
