Harris was charged with and tried and found guilty of the offenses of rape, robbery, and second degree kidnapping in the District Court of Weber County, Utah. Judgments of conviction were entered and sentences imposed, which were affirmed by the Supreme Court of Utah.

The person against whom such offenses were alleged to have been committed was Kathleen Edwards.
