On February 5, 1964, Ronald Morris (defendant) was indicted for murder. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1963, ch. 38, par. 9-1.) After a jury trial, he was found guilty and sentenced to 50 to 100 years in the penitentiary. He appealed to this court.
