FEATHERSTON, Judge:

This proceeding involves the income tax deficiencies of petitioners for 1967, 1968, and 1969. For 1967, petitioners filed separate returns, and in separate notices of deficiency respondent determined the following deficiencies and additions to tax under section 6653(a):1
