This is an action to recover $1,200,000 for damage to cargo carried from Germany to Turkey on the ship SS ESKISEHIR, and allegedly caused by a fire during discharge at the port of Hopa, in or around Istambul, Turkey. Plaintiffs are West German Corporations1 the primary insurers and reinsurers who, having paid the German shipper's claims, are now subrogated to its rights against the defendant...
