Presently before the court are plaintiff's motions for new trial on the issue of damages and judgment notwithstanding the verdict pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. 59(a) and 50(b) respectively. Plaintiff is a longshoreman who was injured while performing loading operations aboard defendant's vessel.
