This is an action for refund of federal estate taxes which are alleged to have been erroneously assessed and collected. The plaintiffs are the executors of the estate of William C. Cockrill (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the decedent), who died in August, 1960, and the defendant is the District Director of the Internal Revenue Service.
