Plaintiff Maxine Steele's mother owned, operated and lived in the Brentwood Hotel in downtown Seattle. While visiting her mother there, plaintiff slipped and fell walking down a hall stairway, sustaining serious injuries. She brought this action against her mother for negligence in failing to maintain the stairway properly.
