Alva Steamship Co., Ltd. (Alva), a British corporation, was the owner of the m/t ALVA CAPE which was registered under the British flag. On May 17, 1966, the ALVA CAPE sailed from Karachi, Pakistan bound for Bayway, New Jersey with a cargo of naphtha.
