The parties to this appeal were married in 1951 in the District of Columbia, and will be hereafter referred to as husband and wife.1 In November 1960 the wife filed suit against the husband in the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, alleging that the parties "were lawfully married" and seeking an absolute divorce.
