This suit arose out of an automobile collision in which a police interceptor automobile belonging to the City of Tyler and being driven by one of its police officers in the performance of his duty as a policeman, collided with an automobile driven by John Robert Sandlin. As a result, for all practical purposes the police car was a total loss. The City of Tyler sued Sandlin's estate for damages, alleging negligence on the part of Mr. Sandlin...
