On May 4, 1954 Walter R. Hartman entered a plea of guilty to a charge of breaking and entering a U. S. Post Office at Rocky Mount, Virginia, in violation of 18 U.S.C.A. § 2115. Pursuant to that plea he was sentenced to five years imprisonment, the maximum allowed for the offense.

On October 6, 1962 Hartman filed a motion to set aside and vacate the judgment pursuant to 28 U.S.C.A. ...
