On March 22, 1957, in the District Court of the Second Judicial District of the State of Montana, in and for the County of Silver Bow, the petitioner was convicted on his plea of guilty of the offense of second degree murder, and sentenced to the Montana State Prison for a term of 25 years, where he is presently confined.
