This is an appeal from the decision of the Patent Office Board of Appeals affirming the examiner's rejection of claims 1 and 2 of appellants' application Serial No. 647,130, filed March 19, 1957 for MACHINE FOR FEEDING DATE TO A PITTING MACHINE. Two claims have been allowed.

The appealed claims read:

"1. A machine adapted to orient dates and the like, which are haphazardly grouped together...
