On December 21, 1960, the Great Lakes Carbon Corporation filed in the district court a motion asking for the vacation of an arbitrator's award concerning a controversy between the corporation and the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers Union. The arbitration was undertaken because of an agreement executed by the corporation and the union on March 6, 1959, providing, inter alia, for this type of grievance settlement...
