This is an action brought by plaintiff, Strickland Transportation Company, Inc., against Harwood Trucking, Inc. Both parties are common carriers by motor vehicle. The object of the suit was a recovery by plaintiff of the amount it had been compelled, as the delivering carrier of an interstate shipment, to pay to the owner of the goods shipped for failure to deliver a portion thereof.
