This is an appeal by the State of Arizona (hereinafter termed the State or plaintiff) from a judgment in a condemnation suit wherein substantial damages were awarded to defendants-appellees, Rockwell and McDonald, for properties condemned by the State for highway purposes. The case was tried to the court sitting with a jury. The defendants will either be referred to as such or, where necessary, by their surnames.
