On October 20, 1953, Ralph Baird, an employee in the highway department of the city of Cincinnati, was engaged in operating a line marker north on the west side of Reading Road in that city. Reading Road, at the point of the occurrence herein, is a six-lane highway, with three lanes on each side of the center markers.
