The plaintiff, Henderson G. Reliford, is a coal miner. He entered the employ of the defendant on July 7, 1936, and continued in its employ as a coal miner in various capacities until June 28, 1951. On that date he retired from his employment for the reason, as he alleges, that he was totally and permanently disabled by the disease of silicosis.
