The United States Government instituted this action by filing a petition for condemnation on June 21, 1950, to acquire certain lands and easements for the construction of the lower lock and dam, the St. Anthony Falls Project, Minnesota, authorized by Act of August 26, 1937, 50 Stat. 848, 33 U.S.C.A. § 540. Pursuant to the request of the Secretary of the Army dated June 13, 1950, an order for immediate possession was granted on June 21, 1950...
