For approximately seven years the decedent had worked for the employer in the capacity of a carpenter on its mining property. On the afternoon of April 20, 1949, decedent told his foreman he needed a certain kind of wood to make some drill plugs and that it could be obtained in a nearby stand of timber. Shortly thereafter, the decedent took the pick-up truck and drove away. There were no known witnesses to the subsequent events...
