On March 30, 1952, two automobiles were involved in an accident in Chicago, Illinois. One automobile was driven by Maurice Sullivan, the other by Daniel Thomas, an agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. At the time of the accident, Thomas was acting within the scope of his employment.
