This is an action at law for damages resulting from the alleged illegal arrest and detention of the plaintiff.
On July 4, 1949, the defendant, a deputy sheriff of Ingham county, arrested the plaintiff and delivered him to the custody of the sheriff. He remained in such custody until July 8th.
