This action arises out of a collision between the barge CBC-603 in the tow of the Tug Protector and the barge Fred Driggs in the tow of the Tug Mack. The collision occurred about 9:45 P. M. on July 21, 1946 in the east draw of the Southern Pacific Lines railroad bridge across Berwick Bay from east to west between Morgan City and Berwick, Louisiana.
