City of Homewood (appellee), a municipal corporation, filed its petition in the Probate Court of Jefferson County to condemn certain lands of Alice F. Grief (appellant), lying in Jefferson County, under the provisions of Chapter 1, Title 19, Code of 1940. She retained attorneys to represent her in the proceeding. On September 1, 1949 the commissioners who had been appointed made an award to appellant in the amount of $17,500. No appeal was taken...
