The above-entitled proceedings were consolidated. In Docket No. 22244 the respondent determined a deficiency in income tax against petitioners for the calendar year 1944 in the amount of $8,419.08. In Docket No. 22245 the respondent determined deficiencies in income tax against petitioner, Lester Maxwell, as follows:
