Plaintiffs in these three suits, which have been consolidated, are The Shell Company of Philippine Islands, Ltd., Standard-Vacuum Oil Company, and Caltex (Philippines), Inc., hereinafter referred to as Shell, Standard, and Caltex, respectively. All are corporate entities which, at the time this cause arose, were engaged in the commercial distribution of petroleum products in the Philippine Islands area.
