The libel in this suit contains two causes of action; one for damages in the sum of $50,000 for personal injuries received allegedly caused by the respondents' negligence, the other for maintenance and cure in the sum of $10,000. Libelant was a member of the crew of the S. S. Samuel Chase which sailed from the Port of New York May 19, 1944 in convoy for Belfast, Ireland.
