Respondent determined a deficiency in the income tax of decedent, E. L. Brannon, for the taxable year January 1 to August 13, 1942, in the amount of $10,839.28. Respondent also determined a deficiency in the income and Victory tax of decedent's widow, Laura H. Brannon, for the taxable year ending December 31, 1943, in the amount of $2,171.53.
