The appellant, Hartmann, sued Time, Inc., publisher of the magazine "Life," alleging that he was libeled by certain material published by "Life" in an issue of that magazine dated January 17, 1944. The suit was filed in the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County, on January 17, 1945 and was removed to the court below.
