The plaintiff, a citizen of Pennsylvania, brought suit in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendant, a Delaware corporation, to recover damages for an alleged malicious prosecution and false imprisonment. At the close of the case the defendant moved for a directed verdict, which motion was denied. The jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff and assessed compensatory damages at $3,000 and punitive damages...
