Appellants and five others were charged in sixteen counts of an indictment with conspiring with others to violate, and with actual violations of the internal revenue laws forbidding the illicit distilling and handling of intoxicating liquors. All of them were found guilty under count one, the conspiracy count, and all, except George W. Burk, Jr., who was found guilty on count three, were found not guilty on all of the substantive counts....
