On November 27, 1939, at Chicago, Illinois, libellant shipped on board the motorship Buckeye State, owned by Federal Motorship Corporation, respondent-claimant herein, 87,700 bushels of corn, for transportation to Oswego, New York. In transit the cargo was damaged to a very considerable extent either by "heat", as claimed by the libellant, or by "fire", as claimed by the respondents.
